Stephen Ministry
Interested In Becoming A Stephen Minister?

During the month of October the Woodside Stephen Ministry team will once again be conducting interviews for those who feel as though they are being called to serve as a Stephen Minister.
Pastors want to provide care to everyone who needs it—but they can’t do it alone. Stephen Ministry bridges that gap and ensures that those in need of Christ-centered care receive it.
With 50 hours of training prior to commissioning, bi-monthly supervisory and continuing education meetings, as well as weekly care receiver meetings this highly effective and biblically sound approach of ministering to those in need requires all Stephen Ministers to be extremely diligent and committed to those they serve. While God leads all who commit to His work, He calls on His Stephen Ministers to be extremely diligent and committed to those they serve.
As a Stephen Minister you will guide those who are hurting as they rediscover the path beneath their feet; a path that for some has grown virtually invisible in the shadow of this life.
If you are interested in learning more about how you might become a Stephen Minister please contact Norm Sims at normsims@woodsidebible.org to see how you can become a part of this amazing ministry!
* The 2011-2012 training session begins Saturday, November 5, 2011.

Stephen Ministry Conference – Saturday, October 29th 2011
Retreat Location: Woodside Bible Church, Troy Campus
The Stephen Ministry Network again extends to your caregivers and Stephen Ministry team an invitation to join us at our annual retreat.
This year’s retreat, “The Love of God in the Listener’s Ear” will seek to build and refine our abilities to ACTIVELY Listen. As we know listening is a huge factor in effective caregiving and this year’s presenter, Judy Schlueter, is a veteran at this skill. Mrs. Schlueter is the Manager of Spiritual Care Services at DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital in Detroit.
Click here to download the registration form. We’d like someone from each church to register your attendees by completing the form, collecting the registration fees, and mailing one check to Paula Hoegemeyer. Please note: The check is to be made payable to “Stephen Ministry Network of SE MI.”
God continues to bless us in these shared events with enriching and long-lasting Christian fellowship. This is another way for your congregation to enhance the skills of your caregivers, plus it’s a great way for them to realize they are not serving alone in their ministry.
Please be aware, there is an increased fee for any registration postmarked after midnight, 10/15/11, hence another reason to REGISTER EARLY! We thank you for helping us share the news of this exciting opportunity. We look forward to meeting you personally on Sat. Oct.29th at Woodside Bible Church in Troy.
