Yoshito & Hisako Kato are missionaries with Word of Life Fellowship, Inc.
Yoshito is field director of Word of Life Japan, serving since 1979.
Ministry locations: Tokyo, Karuizawa Nagano, Sendai They are doing three things as missionaries:

SYME is an English-only discipleship training school for Asian young adult students taught by native English trainers. The Katos train students to become fluent in English so that they are able to study oversees in universities, graduate or ministry training schools and are able to serve with international organizations. For at least four days a week from 7:40am -8:30pm, students must interact only in English. They pay a $1.00 fine every time they speak their native language. The full course is 8-months long and trains students each week in one of the 32 SYME Discipleship Topics. At SYME, students will learn to lead youth club meetings, youth camps and learn basic skills on how to counsel young people. Each month, they also have special sessions for men and women. The men’s session is called ‘Man to Man’ and focuses on: 1. Integrity, 2. Significance, 3. Relationships, 4. Anger, 5.Vision, 6. Character, 7. Purity, and 8. Wisdom. The women ‘s session is called ‘Heart to Heart’ and focuses on a woman’s 1. Role, 2. Love, 3. Goodness, 4. Spirit, 5. Picture, 6. Attitude, 7. Control, and 8. Influence.
