God has called us to serve overseas where almost no one has heard the Gospel or has a personal relationship with the Savior.  Two generations of communism and a generation of secular humanism has left the Czech Republic with less than 2 evangelical believers out of 1000.  As one of the most secular societies in the world, we have found that people’s lives are transformed through onsite personal contact with His people and the Holy Spirit opening lives to Him.

Next month we will be celebrating our church Betanie’s 10^th anniversary.  It is a bright and shining testimony to God’s provision and growth in people’s lives. In addition, Betanie’s daughter church in a nearby community also gives us reason to celebrate.  I have the privilege to announce that the Novy Liskovec daughter church is officially listed as a fully functional local church. Our associate pastor, Ales Kratochvil, is now serving full time at the daughter church and they are achieving financial independence and have a fully functional Elder/deacon board. Praise God for His faithfulness in Church Planting.

God has been opening many doors for outreach through the local Czech church.  One growing opportunities is to equip local believers for ethics and the testimony of character in the workplace.  Rick meets weekly with Believers and mentors them in their workplace.  It is amazing to meet regularly with Believers for lunch, a breakfast meeting, or in a company conference room for prayer and Bible study with emphasis on outreaching in the workplace.

We have also had the opportunity to welcome North American students to participate in Business as Mission opportunities.  Recently we hosted a team of MBA business students from Tennessee.  We placed them in Czech companies for internships and went alongside them to model outreach in the work place.  Our desire is that through short term opportunities the Czech Church and the North American Christians can grow together for His Glory.
