Franklin, Kirk & Christine

Kirk and Christine Franklin have been serving with Wycliffe Bible Translators since 1981. During that time, they have held a variety of roles in Papua New Guinea and Australia. Currently, Christine is the Bookroom Manager for Wycliffe Australia, which is the Wycliffe Organization responsible for raising resources (people, prayer and finances) with the Australian church for Bible translation worldwide. Christine’s role is to stock resources to help promote Bible translation (such as books) in Australia, which she sources from other Wycliffe Organizations around the world.

Kirk has been the Executive Director (President) of Wycliffe Australia for eight years until March 2007.  On 1 January 2008, he became the Executive Director/CEO (President) of Wycliffe International. He works ‘virtually’ though his office has been established in Singapore and he leads a 12 person Global Leadership Team who work from seven locations across the world. Kirk and his team have oversight of 48 Wycliffe Member Organizations and 30 Partner Organizations, all of which work together to see a Bible translation program underway in every language that needs it (currently over 2,200 languages still do and work is underway in over 1,900 languages). Kirk is based at Kangaroo Ground, a suburb of Melbourne where Christine also works from.

The Franklins have two young adult students living at home, Alissa (23) and Samuel (20), and they have one married son, Wesley (25) living nearby with his wife Heidi.
