Andersen, David & Mary

David and Mary were both raised in Christian homes and came to know Jesus Christ as Savior at the age of seven. Because of the emphasis on world missions in their respective churches, they both had made a commitment to serve as cross-cultural missionaries should God so lead. As teenagers, they were very active in Christian ministries, both within and outside the local church. They met at church and began dating in 1953.  They attended Nyack Missionary College in New York.  David completed his studies at the Detroit Bible College.  They were married in 1956 and have three children and six grandchildren.

David served as the president of the World Missions’ Fellowship, Director for the Protestant Youth Organization for St. Clair County and as an assistant pastor.   The next 31 years were spent serving as pastor of four churches.  During those years, they sought to lead their churches into becoming world mission churches.  More and more of their vision was committed to ministry overseas. Finally, in 1991, the Andersens accepted the call to become vice president of International Ministries for World Thrust.

In 1995, David Andersen founded Envoy International for the expressed purpose of helping to mobilize local churches around the world to a personal and strategic involvement in world evangelization.  Presently, he serves as founder and president of Envoy International.  This necessitates traveling to a variety of countries primarily in Latin America with limited ministry in Eastern Europe. They are training pastors, church leaders and prospective missionaries for ministry in the un-reached areas of our world. They also partner with other mission leaders in helping to establish the Itinerate Faculty of Muslim Studies for Latin American and Beyond.

Our Task – to help multiply the number of world mission churches around the world.

Our Strategy – to conduct world mission seminars for pastors, church and mission leaders.  In the seminar, they share basic principles to help them become a sending church.

Our Goal – is to see ordinary churches transformed into World Mission Churches so that those who have never heard will have the opportunity to hear.
