Our current message series called GREATER will take us through the first week in June. The purpose for this series is to help us to see how big and powerful our God is and how that big God wants to work in and through our lives. For too many of us live life on a horizontal plane, solving problems and trying to slay giants in our strength or man-made plans. God never intended for us to live like that. And yet we live on that horizontal plane either because of our own pride or an improper view of God. We make Him either too small to solve our problems or too far removed to care.

This message series will have four movements with each one challenging us to live and think differently.

The first movement is a five week series called “God Is…” and it will describe our God as we find him revealed in the Scriptures. Oswald Chambers was one of many who stated that the way we live our lives is directly related to the size of our God. Many people have reduced God to be so small that even the smallest obstacles or challenges frighten them. We can only pray big prayers to a big God. The first five messages will help us to see how big and mighty our God is.

The next six week movement is called ” God Gave…” where we will share very practical truths that we help us better understand our responsibility to share the gospel of Jesus Christ through good words and good deeds. This will help prepare us for the 40 day Everyone A Chance to Hear (EACH) campaign that we will be involved in after Easter. During this six weeks we will have follow up training materials available for small groups and Adult Fellowship Groups. During this period many of our groups and departments will train and strategize on how they are going to use that forty day period to reach their region, neighborhood or demographic group. It is our goal to see thousands of Woodside people trained to be able to share the gospel of Jesus Christ through their own story and the Word.

The third movement is called “God Can…” and it will take us up to Easter. During these four weeks we will be challenged from Scripture that the God who is big and powerful also wants to work in our lives. Many people do not experience God’s power because they have sin in their lives that clogs up the relationship or they do not have the faith to believe or do not take the time to ask. Easter Sunday will be a great day of worship on all six of the Woodside campuses. Easter will also launch the 40 days of ministry and service as we share the love of Jesus in our region through multiple strategies. We will be working together with about 300 other churches in the Detroit area during this time to be used of God to make a difference.

During this forty days we will do a six part series called “God Will…” where we will look at how God will work though us and how he will use ordinary people. We will tell the stories of Scripture but each week we will also be sharing the stories of how God used Woodside people that week to impact lives for the Kingdom. This GREATER series will end with an exclamation point showing that God will get the glory.
